Key statistical milestones approaching in NBL27

We recently looked at the Adelaide 36ers on track to reach games milestones in NBL27, so today we thought we’d see who might hit some key scoring totals or other statistical milestones this season.

Flynn Cameron

The NBL world stood up and took notice of Flynn Cameron in NBL26 and after an impressive recent NBA Summer League stint, the world knows about him now too. Still only 26 years-old, Cameron averaged a career high 11.3 points per game as well as 3.3 assists and 4.3 rebounds on his way to being named the NBL’s Most Improved Player in his first season in Adelaide.

With over 100 NBL games to his name now, Cameron is on track to crack 1000 career points in NBL27. He scored a career-high 464 in NBL26 and only needs another 228 to get to 1000. He will also surpass 200 NBL assists and could also get to 200 free throws made. Cameron needs 71 to get there and made 83 at 89 per-cent in NBL26.

Zylan Cheatham

Often described as the Adelaide 36ers’s “Glue Guy” – a team-first, unsung and unselfish hero – Cheatham doesn’t often prioritise his own stats, but he has a few to look forward to in NBL27.

After racking up 484 points in NBL26, Cheatham should tick over 1000 NBL points this season, needing just 226 to get there. He is also 461 rebounds off 1000 in the NBL, which may prove difficult, though after pulling down a club 40-minute era record 410 rebounds in NBL26, it isn’t as much of a stretch as it may appear.

200 NBL assists is just around the corner for the athletic forward while 50 NBL blocks is also not far away.

Bryce Cotton

He is a six-time NBL MVP and nine-time NBL scoring champion but despite all of the statistical categories he dominates, if you asked Bryce Cotton, the only thing he would like to add to his record is a fourth NBL Championship, and first with the Adelaide 36ers.

In NBL27 he is on track to hit a number of statistical milestones, including becoming just the 25^th player to reach 7000 points. Four points is all he needs to get to that total, while he is also four three pointers away from becoming the 15^th player to get to 900 three pointers made in NBL history. Should he maintain his average of three 3PM per game, he could get to 1000 3PM should the Sixers make a run into the finals.

Isaac Humphries

He has played more games for the Adelaide 36ers than any other current player in the side and Isaac Humphries has the numbers to back it up.

One more point would take him to 2000 NBL points while he is 53 away from 1000 rebounds and just 41 away from 300 blocks. To put those numbers into perspective, last season Humphries had a career-high 207 rebounds and a career-high 61 blocks. 25 rebounds will take Humphries into Adelaide’s top 20 overall for rebounds, overtaking Anthony Petrie’s 752 overall (Humphries has 728 for the Sixers and 947 overall).

John Jenkins

Despite only having 17 NBL games to his name, John Jenkins still has some statistical milestones on the horizon. Having arrived part-way through NBL26 after an extensive history on the court around the world, Jenkins raced out of the blocks with his scoring, showcasing his perimeter shooting from the off.

He is 31 points away from getting to 200 NBL points and it is conceivable that with a full season and a better understanding of the pace and demands of the NBL that Jenkins could get to 500 during NBL27. With 41 three-pointers made at an average of 2.4 per game in NBL26, Jenkins is sure to surpass 50 3PM, and should get to 100 if he maintains that rate this season.

Matt Kenyon

His first season in Adelaide 36ers colours yielded 63 rebounds, putting Matt Kenyon on track to make it 500 in the NBL during NBL27 if he can maintain that number. Of that number, 292 of his rebounds are on the defensive end, meaning eight more would make it 300 defensive rebounds across his seven-season four-club NBL career.

Kenyon is also on track to crack the century for assists and steals in NBL27.

Bul Kuol

The newest Adelaide 36er will spend the first few months of the season on the sideline as he works his way back from an ACL injury, but Bul Kuol will be eager to hit the court running once he is fit to resume.

With potential to hit 1500 NBL points, 250 three pointers made, 500 NBL rebounds, 200 assists and 100 steals, Kuol has extra reason to progress through his rehabilitation and get into the navy-blue jersey for the first time.

Nick Rakocevic

After only arriving in Australia for the 36ers’ second game of NBL26, Rakocevic made himself right at home and quickly became a fan favourite for his aggressive work on the boards and his ability to hit a three in key moments.

With a season under his belt and an opportunity to feel more settled, Rakocevic should be surpassing 500 NBL points and 250 rebounds in NBL27. He is also likely to tick over 50 NBL assists, with only eight more required to get to that number.

Keanu Rasmussen

Still only 23, Keanu Rasmussen will be hoping for more court time in NBL27 after averaging just four minutes per game last season. After dominating the NBL1 Central competition and making his national team debut for the New Zealand Tall Blacks last season, Rasmussen is primed to continue his growth in the NBL.

He should be aiming to tick over 100 NBL points and 50 rebounds in NBL27.

Isaac White

Isaac White returned to his hometown of Adelaide to play for the Sixers in NBL26, putting together a serviceable season with his trademark speed and energy.

He needs to make just one three pointer to make it 100 in the NBL and is also closing in on 200 free throws made and 200 assists in the competition. Another 88 points will see White clock 1000 in the NBL. If he maintains his career average of 5.1 points per game, it will take him 17 games to get there.
