The Adelaide 36ers and DJ Vasiljevic have mutually agreed to part ways.
Vasiljevic has played 90 games in Sixers colours since signing on with the club during the NBL24 season.
He averaged 15.1 points per game with 2.6 three pointers made to go with 3.2 rebounds and 1.9 assists.
The 28-year-old was named captain of the club ahead of NBL25 and was one of three co-captains last season.
Adelaide 36ers General Manager of Basketball Operations, Matt Weston says Vasiljevic had made a memorable contribution during his time at the club.
“DJ came to our club at a time when we needed experience and leadership, and he has been really valuable in that space,” said Weston.
“Last season he was asked to play a different role and had some important moments, however as we discussed with him our club’s vision for NBL27 and beyond, it became apparent that we were moving in different directions.
“We are grateful for everything DJ has brought to the club, and we wish him and his partner Paigan well with their next chapter.”

Vasiljevic says it was a difficult decision.
“I genuinely enjoyed my time at the Adelaide 36ers. I made a lot of friends and desperately wanted to win for the city and the state of South Australia,” he explained.
“It’s hard to leave that behind but basketball careers are short and I need to give myself the best chance to make the most of mine.
“I’m extremely grateful for the way my partner and I have been welcomed and embraced by people in Adelaide, and we’ll take a lot of good memories and strong friendships with us.”
Vasiljevic is now a free agent with NBL Free Agency open as of 8:30am ACST on Friday 17 April.
